Barbara paints her mother's country, Atnwengerrp. Underlying markings depict some significant sites of Atnwengerrp country including land formations and campsites as well as flora and fauna.
Awelye (Women's Ceremony), Spiritual Figures and ancestral dancing tracks, as they can still be seen today, etched in the rocks at Anthep, are also depicted. This ancestral place remains the most significant site on Atnwengerrp country for Barbara's people today. It is a place where everyone - men, women and children - can meet together and camp.

Outside Australia.
International Shipping - New Zealand. We offer fully insured shipping via the International courier network, or Australia Post for small works. The GST is displayed on all prices on the Palya Proper website, however on entering your NZ address the Australian GST will be automatically deducted and your shipping rates will be displayed.
All other International Shipping. Palya Proper Fine Art has shipped work around the world since 2007 using the safest and best rates possible. Please use the Enquire Button on the page of the work you are interested in for a specific quote by providing your city, post code and country.
Delivery Times.
International delivery times vary by country, but generally arrive within two to three weeks of collection from the Gallery.
Goods & Services Tax (GST).
Prices on the Palya Proper website include 10% Australian Goods and Services tax which we are not required to collect on works shipped out of Australia.
We will advise the reduced artwork price when we return the shipping quote to so you have an accurate total price.
Duty and Import Taxes.Please note that import duties, local taxes and customs charges are the sole responsibility of the receiver. Our designated courier will handle clearance and will contact you regarding any customs charges due prior to delivery. Palya Proper accepts no responsibility for customs clearance or charges as requirements vary widely by Country.

About The Artist
Barbara Weir was born Florrie Weir to her mother the late, famous Aboriginal artist, Minnie Pwerle and her father Jack Weir, an Irish Australian stock man who owned the station next to Utopia. Sadly, Barbara is also one of a group of Aboriginal children known as the Stolen Generation who were forcibly removed from their families. After returning to her community, Barbara’s career as an artist was inspired by the dynamic artists at Utopia and in particular the work of her aunty, Emily Kame Kngwarreye.
