Polly Ngale
Polly Ngale was one of the most senior custodians of her country Alparra, in the heart of Utopia. Member of the oldest living generation of Utopia women and her artistic career began in the late 1970s when she learned the craft of batik making. Polly was considered one of the most accomplished painters from the Utopia region, inspired by the Arnwetky - a green tangled, spiny shrub that produces fragrant white flowers and fruit. The fruits resembles a plum which she often refers to in English as a 'bush plum'. Learn more about Polly in her bio.
